This legendary and one of the most powerful Cuban cigars has appeared in 1901, being established by Jose F. Rocha and registered in Havana (Cuba) in 1921. The brand was given its name in the honor of the Venezuelan military and political leader, as well as Spanish hero Simon Bolivar.
At first, the brand produced the world's smallest cigar, with the name Delgado which measured 1? inches with a 20 ring gauge, and looked more like a cigarette than the cigar we are used to now.
However, in 1954 the brand was sold to the Cifuentes y Cia, moving its manufacture to the well-known Partagas factory in Havana (which is known as the Francisco Perez German factory nowadays).
