The Piedra family, as many other people who played the leading role in the tobacco industry, came to Cuba from Spain, the Asturias province, in 1880's. They have settled down near a Cuban town Santa Clara, which is situated in the very heart of the Vuelta Arriba region - one of the best tobacco plantations in Cuba and in the world, in general.
The family has soon begun manufacturing cigars, and its second generation, with Jose Lamadrid Piedra as its head, founded the Jose L.Piedra that we know today.
The brand has been producing 7 different vitolas, either in boxes of 25 cigars or in packs of 5 cigars. These are: Brevas, with a ring gauge 42 and length 133 mm; Cazadores, with a ring gauge 43 and length 152 mm; Cremas, with a ring gauge 40 and length 140 mm; Nationales, with a ring gauge 42 and length 134 mm; Petit Cazadores, with a ring gauge 43 and length 105 mm; Petit Cetros, with a ring gauge 38 and length 127 mm; and, at last, Conservas, with a ring gauge 44 and length 140 mm.
All Jose L.Piedra cigars are handmade, though they were previously machine-made, using the short filler, or the tripa corta.
The entire range is considered to have a mild to medium body, with strong aromas. If you wonder what kind of cigar is this, then you could visit My-Cuban-Cigars.com anytime you like, and see our offers.
