This company was named after one of the most famous Cuban tobacco growers, Don Alejandro Robaina, who was part of a family that has been in the tobacco business for a long time, since it has settled in San Luis where the best tobacco growing farms of the Vuelta Abajo region are located. Each year, about 80% of tobacco leaves grown at Don Alejandro's plantations were considered suitable for using them for the wrapper of Cuban cigars, compared to 35% for other farms.
In 1997, Habanos S.A. decided to honor the tobacco grower by introducing cigars named after his famous farmland. Vegas Robaina cigars, rolled at the former H. Upmann Factory in Havana, have quickly gained popularity among cigar connoisseurs.
Vegas Robaina is the creme de la creme of the brands. These cigars are designed for cigar aficionados who can fully appreciate the quality of these Habanos.
